CRAWFORDVILLE, FL – Wakulla County Schools has once again been designated an Academically High-Performing School District, continuing its place among Florida school districts recognized for strong academic achievement, operational excellence and financial accountability.
The State Board of Education’s 2025–2026 designation is based on three measures: 2025–2026 school and district grades, 2025–2026 class size compliance, and 2024–2025 financial audit reviews. Wakulla is one of 18 Florida school districts meeting all criteria for this year’s designation.
“This achievement validates the tremendous work of our faculty and staff. They continue to go above and beyond in the service of the children of our community; we should all recognize how lucky we are they choose to work for Wakulla County Schools,” said Superintendent Rick Myhre.
The renewed designation comes during a period of continued academic momentum for Wakulla County Schools. The district remains focused on ensuring students are proficient and accelerating across academic areas while advancing the critical initiatives of its Five-Year Strategic Plan.
For Wakulla County Schools, the recognition is more than a designation; it is an affirmation of the systems, people and shared commitment required to sustain high-performance year after year. As the district continues to build on this success, its focus remains clear: providing every student with the opportunities, support and high-quality instruction needed to succeed.
